I would get it with at least 5 months of Warranty left. Not because it will break down, the gt500 actually has the strongest transmission ever made for a stock street car and one of the best engines, I would get it 5 months in warranty because Mustangs are known to have things like squeeks and rattles which can be expensive to fix and are difficult to diagnose with a test drive. Therefore unless you know the owner personally the repairs aren't guaranteed to have been made and you could for example end up shelling out $1000 for an axle which annoys you to no end. That's what i would do and I've bought 3 different mustangs. whenever you do buy the 500 make sure to mod it, they go to 650hp with only $1500 invested.

I would drive it about 7000 miles per year, no cold winters here.

Of course the lower the miles the better....but I wouldn't have a problem considering one with less than 10K miles on it.

I suppose I am selfish.....I wanted a new one. One that had only been titled to one person.....me.

I'd have to go for less than 10k. Lots of warranty left, maybe little abuse.

Alot of miles in a short time usually means it was a daily driver that the person relied on, so probably to beat up on. I put over 20k on my 08 GT/CS from Jan til Sept, mostly interstate so not too beat up, so miles mean nothing to me.
Go with your instinct about the car and owner. Might be able to get a great deal

And like Saddle, I had to be the first owner on mine
