Default Looks like I'll be getting a 2012 Shelby GT500..

So I can only get my car next year, as this year I have a young infant to raise, so wife's orders are "next year!!".

I called up the dealer and he said that you can only order 2011s up until Oct 2010, and the Ford rep says you can begin ordering a 2012 in Feb 2011, for an April/May delivery.

Anyone have any information to contradict this? Is there anything I should be concerned about that would jeopardize me driving my sweetness in April/May next year?

(Any information to persuade me to order the 2011 instead, if you have such information, would also be appreciated)

Thanks!

you have a 2011 gt500 according to your sig. and you have a young infant does not seem to be a issue from this end, I'm thinking why go with a 2012, myself hurry up 2014 50th anniver. lol heck man a '11 gt500 not giving you enough happiness?

I don't own the 2011 - that's just what I aspire to own.

My question is more related to fear. Assuming the 2012 will be more or less the same as the 2011, is there anything that would jeopardize me getting my car by April/May 2011 - for example, they're going to change the engine, or it will be very hard to get the 2012, or make some other drastic change that would make it worse than the 2011?

Thanks. I just want to make sure I am driving the car by April/May 2011 because the wait is sooo long!

if you want to wait for what they say is going to be in the '12 like twin turbo, maybe more goodies, you'll be waiting til sept. or oct 2011 for the 12, but the '11 is prob. next april pick up time.

link to my dream build.which you have to build yourself, lots options $53,000.....$650 for 48 months 6% loan w/ 5,000 down, 20,000 for 2010 trade in next year, thats a lot of money after put that much up front IMO

Is the young infant going to be raised in ONE year? I don't get that part...

Kids just get more expensive as they age!

Ford just put an aluminum block 5.4 in the GT500s... this motor is lighter and more powerful, no way are going with the TT GT500 next year. That's at least 2-3 years into the future.

The 2011 GT500 is the best Mustang ever built... I wouldn't think twice about buying one.

Agree 100%
If you can't afford the GT500 now because of the baby coming along...it doesn't get any better when they turn 1,2,3,etc...

It just gets more expensive...trust me.

It's not because I can't afford it, it's because I'm supposed to focus on the infant and it's difficult to put an infant seat in a coupe. Next year they can sit in a toddler chair.
