Will the Shelby be able to compete?
other than that I have seen other comparisons and real life experiences where the shelby was faster however the cts-v held its own in all occasions.
the crapmaro z28 (mind you this is coming from a lifer crapmaro owner up to the 1998 ss i had...) will still be just that...a crapmaro...they can make it faster...stronger better...but it will still be a pig with lipstick on it...lets see how it handles...how it drives etc..I know my recent test drive of an ss/rs was anything but flattering for that car...very disappointing for all the delays it went through before coming out...heres to hoping they get this one right....only makes the market and the streets that much better.... next thing you know we are going to bring back the mullet..... LOL
the CTS-V is an awesome car....considering its weight and luxury options it is impressive that it was able to beat the gt500 in some road tests and magazine comparisons and hang with or just barely lose in others... I think the best comparison I saw between the 2 was the CTS-v was .3 faster in 0-60 and 1/4 with shelby with a faster trap speed.

Even Steve Saleen can't solve this problem (the sedan as coupe problem). Check out the new Road & Track (pg. 16) There's a review of his SMS Supercars' 570 Challenger. For only $67,581 you can get a car that WON'T outdrag, outrun, outcorner, or outstop a stock Challenger SRT-8. Where do I sign up?

I dont think the Camaro will ever have the aftermarket abilities the Mustang has...for $1200...I bumped my RWHP close to 550...and according to Brenspeed...the Shelby 5.4 will take 850 crank HP before reaching the stress point...I doubt the Camaro will keep up...
True..but will have all the aftermarket depth that the Mustng has built over so many yrs...and I say ...let the games begin!
I am a performance guy, not a fan boy so I will say this with that in mind.
The reason you choose that or the Shelby Gt500 over the vette (taking the cosmetic and hard-core fan boys out of the equation) is because some need 4 seats and can't afford a dedicated toy car.
I love how when fan boys of either the Shelby (or insert any other performance 4 seater) vs Vette argue over which is better, they leave out the biggest factor... THE REAR SEATS. Maybe not comfortable for an adult, but does accominadate children or a family of 3 - 4
