That car you're looking at is a modified, with some aftermarket parts. It looks like it's got the fake brake caliper covers, aftermarket hood, white stripes (Shelby GTs came in silver).
I personally hate seeing Cobra badges on anything but true Cobras, which are 2-seater sports cars NEVER made by Ford. But I guess Shelby got some big $$$ by licensing them over to Ford. The problem is that neophytes call the cars "Cobras".

I agree aftermarket parts all the way..
As far as cobra being only on the Shelby cobras of yesteryear they are awesome..
Ford has been using the Cobra badging almost as long though... Shelby sued ford in 1992 and won/ lost appeal then settled with ford .. Shelby has rights to the use of cobras on any car that looks like the old 2 seaters you mentioned.. However Ford can use them on their vehicle lines... Over the heard the snake / cobra has been on many cars and engine blocks which also included the Torino cobra and even a couple dodges ... The way i look at is it's a freaking badge... It doesn't quantify my car or anyone else's... Just a piece of cheap metal stuck on the panels.. I respect what it symbolizes but I don't get bent out of shape if someone wants badge their car with em.. I do agree that those old cobras are one bad freaking car...
