8 grand over invoice F.U. factor........
Several dealers in my area (Lexington, KY) have done the same thing. I bought my 2012 at right around $48,000. Plus got a great price on my trade-in. Two other dealers in my area jacked up their Shelby's by $10,000 or more. I was told that the dealers can put any price they want on their cars.
Went to Alexander Ford in Franklin TN this morning to look at a 2012 Shelby GT500. They have the car at $56XXX.00 on the invoice, then add $8000.00 on top for the "rarity factor". There was nothing rare about the car, no special edition, not unusual, just a porking of potential customers.
They also had a Boss in there with a $7000.00 FU fee.

Now you can wait for the new and improved 2013 GT500.

It's all in where you go, when I bought my Boss at sticker there was a 2011 Shelby right next to it for 49.9 but I couldn't convince myself to drop the extra 6k on what I thought at the time was already a little over my head. Additionally when I bought my car I wanted to take it to the Ford dealer across the town (St. Louis) and lay rubber in his parking lot for about 10 seconds, he was selling his at 51K and told me no way I would find one at sticker............total *** about it to.
I bought my 08 GT500 in Feb of 2010 from a guy who is a bit of a collector...he paid 5k over MSRP...I bought from him for 11K less then he paid and it had 558 miles...and had never been in 6th gear LOL...

I learned early on to NEVER pay more than sticker for any of those 'specialty' cars and to wait and find low mile used ones for thousands less.
My Dealer FINALLY sold the Boss302 LS they had at $9000 over sticker. They now have a regular Boss302 they are asking $6000 over I think he said. They are NOT negotiating on it either. It's just sitting there, all beautiful, in the show room. (tear) They do not allow test drives in the "special" cars.....Boss' or the numerous Roush cars they have.
Yeah just shop around, I'd wait for the 2013 anyway, you might have to travel or have it shipped in to get the price you want but not all dealers charge rediculous fee's, it's a shame that they're allowed to gouge like that though..should be law's against it...
