Checks out means its a legitimate Saleen, not a clone. Saleen records all the VIN's of the cars they build in a database with the Saleen Serial (bumper) number.

As for the parts for fox bodies......Haney Motorsports, Performance Autosports and Saleen Inc will be your best bet. Supposedly the Saleen Store is beginning to stock aftermarket parts again for the older cars. Or watch ebay as you will see original and reproduction parts on there all the time for fox body Saleens.

If those guys don't help you out any, then email me at sowaxeman@insightbb.com and I can hook you up with 3 of the biggest fox body Saleen enthusiasts in the country that might be able to help out. I know one of them is knee deep restoring a car just like yours right now....88 convertible.

Can tell without the last three digits of the VIN. However #860 is an SC car, has Saleen floor mats and chrome wheels. Also has had at least 3 owners already.

 

 

I HAVE A GUY THAT WANTS TO TRADE IN A 1999 MUSTANG SALEEN COVERTIBLE. THE VIN IS 1SAFP45XXXS212405 CAN YOU TELL ME IF IT IS A REAL SALEEN?

 

As stated in the opening thread, it would make life MUCH easier if you told me the Saleen Serial/Bumper number. I don't really enjoy scouring through 8 pages of 4pt font to search for a vin number [8D]

And I've never heard of a ford VIN that starts with 1S [&:]....sure its not 1V??

 

What about 729? 2001 year model. The vin number is 1FAFP45X81F210014. It has 13590 miles and he wants 22,000.00

Would it be possible for someone to check this out.

I don't think that number was issued in 91, according to The Book, I don't see the vin either .
