Tire and rim size for o3 cobra
Just bought my new cobra and need help getting tire size right. I want the 18" x 9" cobra r chrome rims and what is the largest I can put in back. Costco sells the forty series for p275/40r18 for the backs and p255/40r18 for the fronts. Will the 40 series look bad? or should i spend another 200 and get the 35 series.
I also need the the best mods for performance for this super charged beast.
I love this thing.
Help please
Thanks
Dave

RE: Tire and rim size for o3 cobra
...Look at all tire prices at all places(including tire rack) and not just costco. You probably could find some 35 series tires for close to the same price as the 40's. What brand tire is the 40 series tire you want from costco? Is your goal to do 2 255/40/17's and 2 275/40/17's? How big a concern is handling? How big a concern is $? Performance vs. value is the issue?

RE: Tire and rim size for o3 cobra
the tires at costco where bf goodrich g force. I made a mistake the car already has 275 all the way around stock. I would leave them in fronts except i will be going with an 18 inch rim. I would like to get something larger on the back though like a 315 i think i would need a 10" rim though. i want the cobra r rims. i sold my camaro to buy this thing. Nice upgrade. What a car.

I did not answer your question completely. I want a real nice look with out losing handlling or horse power. will the 18" rims and the larger rear tires take away from the overall performance of the car? has any one here done this?

If your concerened about performance get some drag radials. If you do any amount of driving in bad weather, or plan to put more than about 5000 miles a year on, I recommend the Nitto 555r D/Rs. I love mine, and they actually seem to be better in the rain than the BFGs radials i was running before.
