What to buy?

RE: What to buy?
You've probably already thought of this, but eBay is a great place to look. You can see what new and used SCs are going for. NOW is a good time because many folks are trading in their SCs for Extremes or choosing the Extreme over the SC new. And then there are those waiting for the new Shelby Cobra. There seems to be a lot of inventory out there right now and the model year is closing soon.
BTW, don't overlook the benefits of buying one used with very few miles on it. I have always purchased new and taken the HUGE depreciation hit the moment the car leaves the lot. I just bought a 2005 non-SC with 2000 miles on it for $13k less than new MSRP and probably $10k less than the original owner paid. The beauty of Saleens and Saleen owners is that the cars are well taken care of. Many have never seen rain. Most live in garages and are driven to car shows and back or just tooling around (can a Saleen "just tool around? I'm not so sure!) on weekends. If you take the time and do your research, you will find a lot of reward out there for your patience.

If you are in MI, definitely try Campbell Ford, which advertises as being the #1 Saleen S/C dealer in the country: http://www.saleenperformancedealer.com/home.html No connection, YMMV, etc. and I'm sure there are other dealers/sources out there too.
Good luck, MI is a fun place to have a Saleen. Whenever I am in MI I feel like I'm driving a Ferrari in Maranello--many people seem to recognize and admire the car, and know lots about it. Here in Chicago most people are not quite sure what it is.

+1 for Ron Ward at Campbell Ford. I also live in Michigan and have talked to every dealer here. I live in the Detroit area and ended up getting my car from Ron almost 200 miles on the other side of the state...... If you want more details or want to discuss, PM me.

Another one for Ron. I bought my E from him, which was his personal car, so not only does he sell them, he's owned them. The guy is straight up and just great to deal with. I highly recommend him.
