If your serious buy a 3v Saleen cheap, pull out the motor & drop in a SHM 600 hp crate engine. These engines are capable of 900 hp with injection. Upgrade your suspension/driveline & hold on!

I agree with the motor swap, but I have read some serious CS issues with SHM, I would go with either VT engine or Haney Motor Sport, they stand behind their products.

This was recently posted in another forum.
Don't know why I didn't think to ask this before... My 03 Mach motor was stroked by SHM a couple thousand miles back. Well, I believe I am already experienceing ring land failure. The power is inconsistant and I have low compression (130 vs 165) in #2. Leakdown shows the rings acting up.

I was thinking about a complete shortblock... actually, I've been anguishing over it since I JUST bought the car, then found this problem. Would it be reasonable to send my engine and have you guys (VT)go through it, replace the pistons and machine it for a BB? If you would do that, what would you charge? I believe it has a kellogg(sp?) crank and manley rods and pistons.

It would be great to be able to salvage most of this motor AND get my BB without completely breaking the bank
