Dyno stock numbers GT 500?

RE: Dyno stock numbers GT 500?
Better find out if dynoing it voids the warranty at the Ford Dealership you're taking it to.....don't know what etiquette is on that policy.
What kind of dyno was it (Dynojet, Mustang dyno, etc...) and what was the weather/other conditions? Some of that may explain it.....but your friend is missing quite a bit of HP[:@].

The Dyno owner is very known locally and he has never had any problems. Even he said the car is at least 40hp underpowered. The car has roughly 2,500 miles on it.
Thanks for the replies and any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Dyno stock numbers GT 500?
I'd be very surprised if the car was underpowered from factory, every GT500 engine is run on an engine dyno before being installed. 500hp at the crank -15% drivetrain loss = 425hp. If he pulled 384, was that an adjusted number for temp/humidity? Assuming the dyno was set up correctly, hopefully it'll be something easy to find/fix, like a ham sandwich left in the differential or poorly greased driveshaft fittings. Good luck getting Ford to do anything about it though (unless you find a mechanical problem) they will look up the engine dyno record to confirm it ran at least 500hp and then tell you too bad so sad.
