So am I understanding this Polk, you havent had any problems with the fiberglass hood?
Nope, that specific problem was for the serialized cars. People that started with the Ford hood, then swapped over didn't have that problem.

A question on top of carpen's, the S/C hood vents are just for looks, not functional, correct?
Although they actually do tunnel through, they don't really extract heat. So don't buy them thinking that the car will cool off faster, buy them for the looks.

However, they could be modified to function better.

Polk: Would you recommend to save the 800 or so and just opt and get the fiberglass hood instead of the aluminum. Because I really just want it more for the looks because I think it really brings out the uniqueness of the Saleen. Thanks

Just to clarify, everybody has had to deal with hood shake to some degree. You can raise the bump stops and add padding to the side bumpers. The front of these cars catch a lot of air.

You won't actually save the whole $800. Saleen sends out the fiberglass hoods in 'rough' shape. So somebody has to smooth it out. Mine is perfect but I paid the price for a pro to smooth it out.

ebay now...no resv....last i check it was a little over $100.00, from a
reputable seller. it needs the rear corners addressed, and includes
the vents.
