Default Let's get real!

When the modern Mustang was reintroduced I don't think anyone had in mind having it become the best cornering race car in the world. To me, it's largely a modern version of a 60's muscle car without the downsides of an old classic car. Frankly, I don't care if there are six figure plus European cars that will out perform it in the mountains of Italy after the highways have been closed to traffic! A car that will take turns at 90 mph is a total waste 99% of time unless you are the host of BBC's "Top Gear"! Driving like that will get you and other innocent people six feet under when you meet a stalled truck around a blind corner! Let's get real!

I buy Mustangs because they look great and they give you a rush for a 3 to 5 second WOT in a safe area to accelerate! If it goes over 200 MPH I'll never know because I'm not an spoiled eight year old that places no value in his own life or other people's lives! Unless you are buying a car for track competition alot of this power hype is just to sell cars for the unbright! It's sales manipulation! I love my Mustang, but it's not going to become a Formula 1 Race Car or out corner a $350,000 Ferrari... and you know what? I'm just fine with that.

There's always something faster! Live with it!

Well it seems with the 2013 GT500 has a Nurburgring time some where between 7:35 and 7:28 according to people that claimed to have been there and or privy to the info.

Either way, it sounds like this car can do it all. Who'd have thought a year ago? Erik

The transmission/rear end is geared so that 60 comes in at redline in first. Should be interesting to see the effect on 0-60 times.

I am REALLY excited about the 2013 Mustang Shelby 500, 650 HP bone stock is FREAKING awesome, and I wonder how much the car will sticker for $65K, $70K, what do you guys think?

Yeah, being able to hit 0 to 60 without shifting in first will help out those performance time to 60 mph, and that is why GM did it on the Corvette C6 Z06 that I own, and is an animal in its own right! Someday I intend to replace my 2008 Challenger Hemi SRT8, with the new 2013 Shelby Mustang as my daily driver, B/C this life is JUST TOO DARN SHORT, not to be driving something really bad azz, full time ,that you love (all the time, come rain or sunshine or with Blizzak Tires in the winter)!
