Will see if Ford-VCM allows me to program the SBJ for the fog-light switch. The Fog Fuse has power,
and when a fuse is plugged in, the Fog Relay pins have power. I put the trunk release relay into the
Fog relay plug, and pulling up does not trigger the relay as it is, so my guess is the SBJ needs programmed
for it. I know I can tap into the wire from inside, but I wanna see what the Tool does... The OBDII Ford VCM
I have claims: Control unit coding, PATS Immobilizer operations, and Flash and serial memory programming.

 

Did you ever figure this out? I am about to add fog lights & switch to my 2008 V6 convert.
i did not think there was any “programing” involved

 

You can wire a trigger to the switch here, but for stock, or close to? That line goes
to the SJB, and the SJB will send a negative trigger to the coil at the relay in the
engine compartment, that's not there. You can wire in a separate relay, that uses
that negative trigger. You need a genuine ELM327 adapter, with the HH/MS can
switch, and FORScan. You can get a 2 month TEMP license to make the change.

When you pull out for fog, without the programming, the SJB will not send the negative
trigger to the relay coil slot in the engine bay fuse/relay center. YOU can also find
that wire going out of the SJB to the engine bay, splice in the trigger from the switch
harness manually.

You can see how it goes from the headlamp switch, to the SJB. Then you have the (1347) DB-WH wire out of the
SJB, to the fog relay in the engine bay. It is simply commanded by the (1669) OG-LG from the switch. So, you
can wire a negative trigger right to the DB-WH line inside the car, so it will trigger a relay outside the car from
that spade slot. Without the relay in the slot, it won't light up the FOG indicator. You can still put a relay in, but
run a wire under the relay, out to your relay's trigger. You can do the same for a trunk release inside the car:


This is NOT the FOG relay, it's the high-beam relay. I am using it to latch another relay, but it's the same thing.

 

My 2008 is pretty much stock, I am using the Pony Package grille.
I was thinking of just buying the Starkey harness with new fog light switch, although a bit pricy
i have the service manuals and electrical manual, but did not see any mention of programing.
i would like the fog light indicator to come on though.
i did this on my 2002 and actually added the relays in main j box. It was a pain for sure

 

You won't see anything in the service manuals, because it assumes you already have fogs,
or not. the SJB must be programmed to ground the coil on the FOG relay. I already tested
it without the programming, and the relay does not latch when I pull for fog. I have a headlamp
switch with a new toggle installed in it:

Well, I decided to go with Mustang headlight switch with fog light pull feature.adding mymown fuse and relay which I alrady had. However I will solder & heatsrink wires.

I bought this cool heat shrink tubing that has a solder ring at the center.
So, when the tube shrinks to the wire, you focus on the center and melt
the solder ring into the wires. Pretty cool...

 

I have heard of it, but have yet to see it. Sounds like a time saver
