07 GT cam swap roller followers removal?

Default 07 GT cam swap roller followers removal?

I’m gonna be swapping the cams in my car soon and I’ve seen videos of people saying that you should remove the roller followers before removing the cam, and other people that have skipped this step with no issue

i saw a comment saying that skipping this step could result in valve train or engine damage.

can someone explain and tell me if this step is actually needed or not? I don’t want to do it unless I actually have to

Yes, you do, but not all of them...here's fords Workshop manual for one side. Just use the options in the margin to select the other side for those instructions.
