My buddy just swaped engines in his 1989 speed density car and it back fires horribly now. The new setup still uses the speed density system so what are we missing?

 

We swaped in a non H.O. motor but changed around the firing order. Could that be the problem?

 

recheck the fireing order , or the position of the dizzy , that is all i can think that would be wrong with it .

you cant just expect to swap the spark plug wires and have everything be hunky-dory

the mustang runs a sequential fuel injection system. I'd be willing to bet that its running like crap because 3, 7, 5, and 4, arent being fueled properly

 

why would you put in a non HO,HO are everywhere [&:]

 

Where did you find an 89 SD car?

 

yeah that is a new one unless they have xfi or ms , sd stopped in 88 right ?
