hey i'm currently building an 88 GT motor, that i am really wanting to cam. I have heard that you can and that you can't put an aftermarket cam in these engines unless you convert it to mass air. virtually this engine will for the most part be stock except for a few upgrades.

there are cams available for sd what you want to look at is the lobe seperation cuz it must stay at 114 degrees seperate and the injectors have to stay at 19#, comp cams has some available so does crower . check into them i was told the same thing about they have to stay stock but that is total bs.

The comp cam that you are discussing is XE270HR.The specs are 512 lift and 114 lsa.They also offer another cam with same lift but lsa is 112 which is for 1.7rr.If you go to comp 's web site it says the cam with 114 lsa will work with OBD1 which is speed density.

yeah it does work with sd but you can ask dimebag he had to do some map work to get it to work right .
