I have a vibration at higher rpms in every gearon my 87 notch, i thought it was the u joints but i cant get any play out of them. Do you think it is an out of balance drive shaft or is there something else that usually vibrates on these 5.0's, because my 91 gt does it too. Any help is appreciated.

 

mine does th samething in high rpms but in normal operateing it is fine not quite sure on what it could be but we can find out

My first thought and the most probable would be your tires. Possibly from being out of balance or from cuppage. For example, one of my vehicles had bad vibration right around 60mph. If I slowed down or speeded up it went away. The issue was the tires having some slight cuppage. When they wore out treadwise, I replaced them and now there isnt any vibration at all.

 

I thought that might be the case too, but it happens at an rpm range not a speed range. It also doesn't do it unlesss it is in gear. I will be changing tires and rims real quick here anyways.

 

i know that my rear tires are trash but are balanced too they are just a little thin , my brother in law calls them home made slicks lol.
