Default SD+Automatic= what cam

Iam in the process of having my short block being assembled and id like to choose a cam finally, i know i have limitations with the speed density in the car and having a automatic but i was wondering if anyone on here has a cam that they have used and noticed a nice gain without tuning and of course a nice lopey sound... if its not worth it ill just have a longer down time for the car and save up for a maf conversion. Im most likely going to have a 2500 rpm stall converter in the trans also if this helps any.

the xe264hr works well with sd and it is a .512 lift . far as a lopey sound won't happen as the lobe seperation angle has to be at 114 degrees seperation.
1mustang how did you run an e303 in an 86 sd when the lobe seperation is 112 on the letter cams?

theres no way you ran an E cam w. SD

that comp might work, but for those pistons, it may have ptv issues. either way ptv needs to be checked w. any cam in any motor

as far as what will work w. those pistons im not sure, but i can point you to some ppl that would know

**** then again, w. the limitations your working with, custom sounds like a very good idea

then AGAIN, flycutting pistons isnt that expensive, and **** youd have a few more cams to work with

midnight... other mods? and how do you like that cam

it very well could be 110 but either way a letter cam can not be ran in sd app.

there are certain cams you can put in ur car without worrying so much about the comp. my suggestion is that you think about how big a stall converter and rear gears you want, then pick a cam. 5.0tech has a chart of cams that works with sd so go on that site and look it up. I cant get to it now otherwise I would show you.

hope this helps
