Cheapest way to swap to carb.

Cheapest way to swap to carb.
So I'm aware that a different distributor is required when going from EFI to carb. What's the cheapest way around that? I saw some talk of using an older mustang dizzy, is that possible?
Also, if running a mechanical fuel pump, what becomes of the factory electric in tank? Can you remove that and just run the pickup tube somehow? How does that work out?
Also, what changes to the fuel lines will need to be made?
Sorry for the newb questions. I'm just really considering this right now and want to know every nook and cranny so I don't get myself into a super exspensive project.
BTW, I'm not interested in the lecture about EFI being better than carbs. This is the carb section. I know the benefits of EFI, not doin it for me for my current situation.

used parts on e-bay is the cheapest way, Might not be thest way, but thats not what you asked for. I see that it is up for trade sell ect..... If you convert it, that will drop the value. Especially if it is not "RIGHT" after the swap.

No extra money to spend. And about resale, it has basically no resale at the moment, nobody wants it with some of the problems it has right now, which I will take care of, but anyway...
Can I run the factory fuel pump with a FPR to drop it down to carb levels or do I have to run a new pump?

You can use the same dizzy you have now. And you can get away with just putting a FPR on the feed line and capping off the return line.
Basically you need a 600 cfm 4bbl 4bbl intake/FPR and you should be good to go!

Go to autozone and get a distributor for an 85 Mustang GT and toy are good to go. About 100 bucks for a rebuilt. Used 4 barrel intake and a 650 DP holley on a mild 302. If you have it warmed over a little more than that you may want a 750. As suggested above on the fuel and you are good to go.

Thanks, that eliminates some of my concerns about swapping to a carb.

I actually have another question about the fuel. I'm assuming that I'd have to leave the harness or at least part of it in the car to control the electric pump. Do I have to leave the whole harness or is there anyway to eliminate most of the wiring and just leave the stuff for the pump?
