Default carb ?

I have a 98' explorer 5.0 with gt40 heads etc i am going to go with a letter cam and and nitrous in the future .....what size carb and intake should i go with and not drain my wallet? any preferences on brand of carb?

Edelbrock performer intake, Holley 600 cfm Vac secondary carb. I'd skip the letter cam for something better like a Comp XE270HR

what type of numbers should i see with that setup that you described intake carb cam with a good set of headers and the gt40p motor?....and with a 88' fox hatch what est could I have hope in reaching

You could try the Weiand 8124, it's a slighty better performing intake than the Performer, they're both good though. I like Quickfuel carbs, but they're a load of cash up front, plus parts to tune them.
