Default 84 mustang running rich

I just bought an 84 with a 5.0 ho and I'm trying to find out what the stock jetting is. The carburetor is a motorcraft holley List # 50223. I think it's the same as a 4180. When it's runng you can really smell the fuel and it floats out at 3000 rpms

Charcoal cannisters hooked up? Check for dirt in the needle valves?

Thanks. No it doesn't have a charcoal cannister. Why is it that I can't find any info or parts for this carburetor? Is it even worth messing with or should I look for a different carburetor?

What parts are you looking for? And what do you mean by "floats out"?

I have a few problems with my carburetor as well, but not as severe. I just have a dead spot between 1200 and 1800 rpms. Still trying to do some fine tuning. May end up switching out carbs though. I have a second holley four barrel sitting in the back of my car right now waiting for it.

I would personally just look for a 650 dp if you are working for performance right now.
