Default Timing question

I have a 1990 LX with a 302 block bored 0.30 over to a 306 with D00E 351 heads. I have an F303 cam, fully upgraded fuel delivery. I have timed the car before at 0 degrees before TDC. The car seems to idle fine when it is timed there. When I get in the throttle, the motor seems to bog down as if its not getting any fuel or too much air and not enough fuel. Now I am timed at 30 degrees before TDC. The motor has more of a flat line idle as if I had no cam at all and produces maximum hp and torque at 30 degress all the way to 8000 rpms. Should I try to find a middle point or advance my timing more than 30? Are their other variables that could be involved?

What are the specs on the cam, intake system work, still computer controlled ? I would keep tweaking the timing till you find the sweet spot.

Well if you want it to run correctly if it is efi still, put the base timing on 10-18* that means the timing spout out! then reinstall the spout and the ecm will take control and off u go!

if it is swapped to carb then u might wanna set it to about 36* and leave the spout out if it is running thru the ecm still, if fully after market ignition then just set to the desired setting and go on!

the fcam is a .512/.512 lift with a 226/226 duration i believe!

if its a flat idle your timing is to high. bring it down a little. see how that works. have u considering adjusting your carb?
