Computer not grounding the fuel pump...
1986 LX with a 3.8/auto 89,000km's on it.
Car got back from the drag strip, parked it and it sat for a week or so. (exact same as normal) Jumped in today to get it ready and hit the key and the fuel pump didn't bzzzzzt and shut of like normal, it just sputtered a bit and silence. Rolled over and fired up and stalled with no fuel. Cycle the key and about every 5th time the pump would give a little bzt.
So, Pulled the relay from under the seat, still new but bench tested it anyway, works fine. Jumped between Yellow and red/black and pump runs.
Pulled the computer and tested the tan/grn tracer wire for continuity between the computer connector and the relay connector. It has continuity.
I got this computer from rockauto about 8 months ago and this is the first issue I've had. I haven't tested the other relay trigger wire, came in the house to cool off before something got destroyed from anger!
I'll test the second relay trigger wire and hopefully find a break in the circuit, but, anything else I could possibly look at?
(roll over switch is good or the pump wouldn't run when you jump the relay.)
Any idea's??
