Default street setup

I have a 99 gt vert and I have been looking for a good street setup with a 1-1.5" drop. I want the car the to handle better, but still launch ok at the same time. What would you suggest? I'm looking to spend no more than 1k iin parts. thanks

If you want a 1.5 inch drop, but without the harsh ride, or loss of traction at the drag strip... I would definitely stick with a mild spring with a progressive spring rating.

The Eibach Pro-Kit springs or the H&R Sport springs would be a good spring for you. They both lower around 1.5 inches, and are not too stiff, still allowing for good weight transfer when launching.

Maximum Motorsports has their starter packages... http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=175 which include alot of the most popular items for your car. Springs, Bilsteins, isolators, cc plates etc. You can substitute the H&R sport springs in for the Race springs...

If your budget is 1k, I'd definitely recommend springs, struts/shocks, and cc plates at the minimum, to get the job done correctly.

Sincerely,

situation has changed a little and cash flow is gonna be better than I thought so I was looking more into something like this http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=930 . However, I was not so sure about the shocks/struts. They are not adjustable correct? would I be better of with something like D-specs from tokico? Also is there any discount for forum members, especially if I'm gonna drop 2k+?

That kit comes with Bilstein Struts & Shocks. They are not adjustable, but they are VERY VERY good shocks. They are the best, and highest recommended shocks we sell.

Bilstein has the best shock design (mono-tube), best warranty (lifetime), and offer very good ride quality...

I have also been trying to decide on what springs to get for my 03' GT. I know I want it 1"-1.5" lower. The Eibach pro kit seems to be the perfect height, but I have heard many say it hurts your launch. Above, you said it's not that bad. How much exactly does is affect your launch? I don't care much about handling performance, just straight line. As long as I can get springs that ride close to stock around town, I'm okay. The thing is, I have not seen any drag springs that give me the stance I am looking for. If the pro kit doesn't hurt me too bad, then I guess I could settle for them, even though they seem more like handling springs. If I got them, is their something else I could add to make up for them? Remember though, I am on a high school budget.
