Can anyone help me here?

How many pairs of camber bolts can be used? 1 or 2? I have not even looked at the front suspension to even see how they work yet but this is an upgrade I am looking to use on my car.

My car is a stock S197 chasis. How much negative camber can I expect to gain from a set of these camber bolts? How much tow out will occur while gaining negative camber withoutadjusting the tie-rods? As thetie-rod ends remain staticwhile the tires camber in negatively the tow will change outward. I am looking to gain as much negative camber as possible with about 1/16" tow out for auto-X and tracking purposes.

 

Are you planning on changing your springs? Going with a stiffer, and slightly lower spring will help you gain some negative camber...

Also, I might suggest getting some Camber plates, as opposed to Camber bolts. If you're going to be doing racing, a camber plate is a much more heavy duty mount, which allows for much more adjustment.

Remember, its not just about adjusting camber, but also maintaining camber... you may adjust camber to one setting, but in extreme cornering / braking (auto crossing) the alignment settings can change several degrees!!! Especially when using the stock rubber strut mounts.

I have a 06 gt lowered 1.5" with Ford racing springs,shocks,struts,sway bars....everything.It handles GREAT but a little concerned with uneven wear on tires.Also heard that the tow can cause upper strut mount failure.If anyone knows the best way to go about correcting the problem,the info would be greatly appreciated.

Well you have a couple options in adjusting your front end alignment.

1. Camber Bolts - cheaper alternative. Allows you to adjust camber only, and is adjusted via a special spindle mount bolt at the bottom of the strut. This option does not strengthen your strut mounts or replace them.

2. Camber Plates - best choice. Allows you to adjust camber (and caster with Maximum Motorsports brand). This option allows you to adjust alignment AND provides a stronger mount for the front struts by getting rid of your stock rubber mounts.
