I have a question...one of my friends has a ford focus svt 2001 with a vortech supercharger on it and i was wondering how close the race would be between him and my 1988 5.0 mustang- thw only thing i have done to mine is change the exhaust to dynomax and a bbk x-pipe. if i wouldnt be able to beat him any suggestions about what i would need to add to my car to beat him.

a vortech doesnt come factory with a focus SVT, and he is probably running high boost, you are not going to win. Flat out. If you get long-tube headers and a set of drag radials with some gears you'll put up a better fight but I need more details on what he has done.

 

he said the focus had a vortech though so those times would change quite a bit. most vortech SVT focus i've seen ran low 14s to high 13s. i'm going to move this to S&S, you'll get more input over there.

 

Yea hes more than likely going to beat you. Get some 3:73s, headers and some other little things here and there and you should be able to put up a fight.

 

yeah your probably not going to win. SC can do wonders to cars. Get some gears, CAI, UD pulleys and some new heads and you will be able to compete with him.

 

If he can drive, you are going to get raped. By a focus. Pray to the Almighty that he spins through first and second and doesn't run you down. If you got the money, get the usual: Exhaust, CAI, gears, and DRs.
