Evo VIII VS LS1?

From what I hear from everybody at LS1tech, it surely cannot...

Thats an exaggeration. The rear end can handle the stock power of the almighty LS1.

ls1 is god remember?
no but in all seriousness why does everybody think the ls1 camaros make so much power and its so hard to make a mustang just as fast? Doesnt the ss make 325 HP and the z28 make 310? what are the 1/4 mile times of the ls1 camaro's?

Okay so just full bolt ons and a cam? Well consider a cam + full exhaust in an LS1 will put you pretty damn close to 400RWHP. Something that can't be done by a 2v N/A...
OK, here's the LS1 lowdown:
All varieties of LS1's, whether they be Z28's, Super Sports, Trans Ams, Firebird Formulas, or even Corvettes, put down right around 300 rwhp in stock form, give or take a few. The 01-04 cars may dyno sliiightly higher due to an improved intake manifold. Assuming 12% drivetrain loss for a 6-speed manual, this equates to about 340 hp at the flywheel. GM horsepower ratings don't really mean a lot, they are written more by marketing executives than engineers. WS6's, Super Sports, and Vettes cost more so they were given more advertised horsepower. It really is the same engine. Honest.
The differences in 1/4 mile ETs among different LS1 F-bodies are really due to transmission and gearing choices. You can have a 6-speed manual with 3.42 gears, an auto with 3.23 gears, or the lowly 2.73-geared auto (like mine). Depending on weather and track conditions and drivers, stock 6-speeds will run between 12.9 (happens more often than you think) and 13.3, autos will run between 13.2 and 13.6. As for personal experience, mine ran 13.52 @ 104, my g/f had a 2.73-geared auto that ran 13.36 @ 105.
Can I put this in my signature? It would save me a lot of typing.
EDIT: I posted this before I saw Mustangmafia's post.

Mines been doing fine on a BGF dr. No I don't think it will live forever but I have been pulling 1.8 60 foots and I have a 6 speed which is way harder on the rear than an auto.

so an ls1 c5 corvette rated at 350hp acutally has the same power as a ls1 z28 or transam?
