06gt vs.S2000
Both at a light to turn left, he is on the inside, so I figure I am goin to have to play catchup once we get straight. But no, light changes, i scratched a little, stayed with him through the turn, then nailed it. Had like 3 cars on him before goin in to 4th. then let up. Flyby ensued. Pulled up next to him to go again, but he got scared and backed off. the end.
short and sweet. i like posts like this. congrats on the win. you DEFINITELY have the torque advantage(we all do over ANY 4-cyl). but, those cars are pretty quick stock, especially top end. nice kill.
Nothing wrong with an s2000's torque. It's called gearing
4.1's multiply a s2000's torque pretty decently. People don't realize how quick off the line a properly launched s2000 is. But, the new model GT's should be able to pull an s2k everywhere. For reference, I launch mine at 5.5k. That way I get some tire spin to release stress from my diff. Most find 5.5-6.5k to be a good launch point for an s2k. Without tire spin, you can easily hurt your diff.

The problem that I find most S2k drivers do is that they don't rev out the motor before shifting. I've known a couple of guys who shift at about 6500 and those cars wind much higher than that before you hit the peak power.
