Default Tragedy!?! *Update*

Well, I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that at a stoplight leaving my town (it cuts off into a one lane, forcing all the cars in the same lane--perfect for a race) I beasted the mess out of an '01 LS1 A4. It was fun and I felt good about it. That's the only good thing.

Going home, I turn off to drop off a friend. There are three people in the car with me. I'm turned and talking to one and the next thing I know the car is spinning sideways and I'm like WTF? I look back, jerk the wheel with the spin, and go full clutch and brake. Too little, too late. The car slams into the ditch and rolls up on its side. Nobody got hurt, but the car is a goner. I want to cry. It's dented everywhere and the rear driver brake is actually cracked. I think the rearend snapped, also. I have no idea how it started to spin, I wasn't even doing anything dumb. At least I had collission on the car. That was my yesterday, for ya....

Is it gonna be totalled? Blue book on those cars is probably lower than you think.
Your insurance company is gonna bend you over big time, sorry to hear man. But you know what the important thing is.
BTW, good kill on Ellis.

The KBB (they don't, of course, include mods) is 8,800. The body guy told me 8000 plus in parts. Labor not included...

It was an '01 Automatic LS1. With an older lady driving. She did stomp on it, though, I know her.
Yeah, it sucks. Adjusters are going to look at it Friday.

this is what i did, i argued with the insurance company with the amount of money they were going to give me, they wanted to give me 1600, i got it up to 1800 and they let me keep the car.

What you should do is try to get them to give you more money, or say if you are only going to give me this much. Let Me keep the car.

then u can either rebuild or sell for parts

Nice kill man. I always find it fun when a girl races me. Had a couple of chicks in a Red WS6 T/A race me a while back. Was quite fun.

Really sorry to hear about your wreck. Nice to see you are alright though. From what I have heard if you document all the work done to your car, receipts, etc... It really helps. Hope everything goes well for you.

If you want to keep your car and them not to total it ask them to use "Used Parts" That's what happened to me. Someone slammed into the back of me at a light and the repairs exceded the totalled value of the car. So the body shop said they could just use used parts and fix it. Actually with the extra money that they saved they re-painted the car for me for free. But I do still have problems with the hatch.
