I have a 1983 Ford Mustang Convertable with the 5.0. Right now its stock except for long tube headers, o/r h pipe, flowmaster mufflers, and king cobra clutch. I just took out the f'ed up tranny. I plan on putting a WC T5 (better 1st gear ratio)with a short shifter in, and putting a 4.10, aluminum driveshaft, and Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials. Can I get 13s? I went 14.6 with just the exhaust clutch and the tire. If I can't, what else will I need to break 13s? I think I can get a 13 with just those mods, but I would like to hear what you guys think.

 

sorry, but no. not even close. get some new heads, then it might be close. convert it to a roller cam and you would have a better chance. tho i wouldnt drag race it with the stock rear end...or a lot of it stock parts, for that matter. if you are looking for 13s, i would go with a tko(or a c4 if a drag only car) over the t5.

 

probably not IMO. but, your not too far off. im kind of a noob but you could probably get mid-high 13's with bolt ons and stuff. like full bolt ons.
