I can't see the same engine more or less that they put in the 2000 Cobra R... pushing 385hp, become supercharged w/better technology and not put out more then 500hp.. I think the only way is due to the weight - I heard those Shelby's are goin to be fat ladies...

you managed to find about 100hp from an intake and tune? Doubtful. The intake wont net you more than 5 hp, no matter what the advertised ammounts (but they will help the curve some and quicken throttle response), and tunes are almost worthless on stock or near stock cars. the more mods you have the better a tune will do. Tuners are only really good for realizing all those hp numbers for the boltons.

btw specter the 05 wouldnt have to net almost 100hp to be at the new edge GT level. the new edge GT comes stock with 260 and the 05+ V6 comes stock with 210. I dont know how bad you are at math but that is only 50 as far as I can see. and you dont know what tune he had either. I am not saying that just the intake and tune would give him 50 hp but next time dont post until you know what you are talking about.

I knew what to expect from what I put on that car.. im not stupid. I raced a 99-03 GT like I said I think auto... but wasn't sure... and we were even until the end of 2nd gear, and stayed about a car back until 3rd, and then the gap started so I let off... I didn't say I beat one or came close to beat one - but I did hang with it... As far as the tune goes... on that car when I took it off when I sold the car, it was a night and day differance. It was worth the money I spent on the xcal2 even for the V6.

arent the new stangs the 05s? maybe chevy makes those now 
EDIT: and I dont have to know what tune he had, because there is no tune that will put an 05 up to even the PI stangs level. Alright, so against the PI stang the difference would be smaller, but its still not enough. dont get so bent out of shape defending ur precious v6. I said before (at the top of this page actually..... I guess ur as good at reading as I am at math huh?) that I have alot of respect for guys who make those 6ers fast, but it takes alot.

I actually believe that I remember reading that the GT500 will only have horsepower in the 400's so yea its not going to compete with the new Z06. Ford is and always will be behind on the sports car side or there models. I mean the fastest car they make cost well into the 100k's. I love ford to death and I love mustangs to death its just they arent doing all they can to keep up in the sports car leagues because they have never tried. The mustang originally came out to give mom and dad a new ride that was sporty but yet would fit the family and be able to still get groceries in. And for all you people who like to put down V6's or I6's STFU because the first corvette ever made was a I6.

GT500 will have "450+ hp".. http://www.svt.ford.com - I do doubt that it will be much slower then the z06... if at all.
ahh specter, now i got ya... but for future referance the 99-04 is referred to as new edge, and the 05+ are S197

He was just trying to say I didnt read his first post because I was defending the V6 against him when he said he respects FAST V6's. I dont care I am just saying please know what you are talking about before you decide that you should post on a certain topic.
