just wanted to ask everyone if they have heard this car is coming out? It replaces the neon SRT-4 and its supposed to be the same engine i think heres a link. You will probably have to copy and paste.

yes..its coming out, and it will have more power than the SRT4 neon...and there is a good chance that it could be AWD...as it is built on a similar platform to the evo, and could basically be a detuned, wagon model of the evo.

 

i was reading about it in car and driver and it was saying FWD.

 

but yeah its 300hp and 260lbs.

 

AWD has been discussed, as other models in the caliber lineup are AWD...i know that right now, it is supposed to be FWD only, but as other models are AWD, if it sells well, i expect that the AWD will find its way into the caliber as well..

also, there is a sedan version, supposedly called the rebel (old mopar name)...i have seen them driving around masked up around the DCX HQ, but i never have my camera when i see them...ill be there this weekend, maybe ill try to grab a few pictures.

I would like to see the sedan version. Basically the SRT-4 Caliber has some stage 2 (wastegate) and some stage 3 (turbo) parts already on it. The SRT Caliber is actually de-tuning the big turbo to get the 300HP, 400 would be a turn of the wastegate away according to someone who is VERY heavily into these cars, and has seen the prototype motor/turbo combination up close and in person. If it were not so fing ugly, this car would be high on my list.
