No, not every fast car has it's roots in a cheap econobox. Mustangs and Camaros start as mid-priced car, and Saleens and Roush's just go up.

The new issue of Motor Trend has a test of the Caliber R/T against the HHR, Matrix, and Mazda 3. It is AWD, and did 0-60 in 10.1 seconds. Ouch.

 

It looks like something my mom will appreciate it. Well here we go, all the sideways hat turning punk kids will be tradin in there crazy fast neons for this LOL. Then all the Caliber owners will spread thru the forums like cancer tellin us how they smoke mustang for fun

Of course I read the topic and knew it was a thread on the Caliber SRT-4. I read the new Motor Trend during breakfast, and simply thought I'd throw a quick tidbit in in case anyone wants to rea up on the Calibers in general, it was fresh in my mind when I read this thread. The article does mention the SRT-4.

It seemed weird to me that Dodge would badge a car R/T and not have it be any faster than that. I think the SRT-4 Caliber will be more in line with the SRT badge as far as performance is concerned..

 

the only car i can think of that was more hideous than that thing is pontiac vibe (first version)[:'(] srt-4 neon is ten times better looking than that....it's going to be tough not to laugh at every single one i see, especially if it attracts the same kind of people that drive srt-4 neons

 

I drive an SRT-4 Neon (that currently puts 307 to the wheels on the stock turbo, and after this weekend with a double ball bearing 50 trim should put close (hoping for OVER) to 400). Am I laughable???
