SRT4 vs. 5.0
OK, my one buddy has an SRT4 and asks me all the time to race him with my 91 LX 5.0 all the time. Just out of curiosity, do any of yous think that an SRT4 could beat my stang? I have ram air induction, racing pulleys, stage 2 clutch, short shifter, bbk headers. Comments?

what's wrong with 91? hes got mass air, forged pistons, and the e7 truck heads i believe
he will beat u from a roll or dig
without boost he would get raped

RE: SRT4 vs. 5.0
thats right. it went from 225, to 215 in like 93, and then back to 225 for the 4.6 in the SN95. does that sound right to everyone?
but anyway, ur car is pretty light, so u may do alright. but i wouldnt be too hopeful. those cars are running 14 flat pretty easily, so u need to be almost a full second quicker than stock. I dont know if ur there yet with those mods.

RE: SRT4 vs. 5.0
nah the "down rating" in the figures is caused by fords conversion to rear wheel horsepower from flywheel horsepower.
87-93 5.0L
flywheel: 225hp and 300ft/lbs torque
rear wheel: 205hp and 280ft/lbs torque
the only difference is the use of hypererautic pistons in '93 instead of the conventional forged pistons. the hypers are lighter and more efficient than forged pistons but obviously forged pistons are stronger and more durable (better for boost applications)
the older 4.6L's are rated at 240hp i believe and the newer ones are 305hp? not sure (not a 4.6 guy heh)
