launching tips with diff tires
the only tires ive used at the track were stock pirelli pzero 235s, and with 4.10s they couldn't hook for shlt. i now have 4.30s, and have had KDW's since september, and they are bald and one of them is now flat, so im putting on some MT street radial 275s this week. there are gonna be craploads of mustangs and fords at LACR next sunday the 30th, and i will be there (if anyone has been doubting my kill posts or claimed times/etc and wants to meet up too...). now for my central question:
with a street radial, how should i adjust my launching techniques?
before, i was forced to either dump it at ~1500rpm, or slip it from 2k. however, my rear end is screwed up (makes a LOT of noise at speed) and i dont want to be dumping from 5k and kill it completely just yet. im guessing ill start with a quick slip from 2500 and work my way up from there. please refrain from saying, "just try different stuff until it launches well" because i am asking for specific things to try out.
thank you

for what its worth, i dont know that ive ever heard a gear that steep that didnt whine a bit...
seeing as how i dont have an 05 GT, im not certain of your best launch type, but i would try slipping it out a bit harder than before, and if it bites well, then go up in launch rpm. the MTs should hook well, and i would dump it hard, but if youre that worried about the diff., thats a whole different story. do you have triple A?

If you are worried about the diff, it's not a good idea to go blowing down the track at 90+ MPH and have an ugly failure. Especially with some traction, you are only going to be putting more sudden stress on the diff.
