friend of mine and i were racing both with pasenger. me and a decent size freind of mine i my car and him and girlfreind in his he and a few others belive gas can change a race heavy. could him having 1/2 tank and myself having 1/4(both 93 octane) offset his preformance as bad as for me to go from a car behind(last race) to a car ahead?

 

What kinda car does he have? I'm not positive, but I think gas weighs about 5lb. a gallon. That's not much weight with a 1/4 tank diff. My 95 is a pig with any amount over 1/2 tank. Below 1/2 tank I have fun[sm=badbadbad.gif]

 

the typical weight of gasoline at 72 degrees F was around 6.25# per gallon

unless they are the exact same car with the exact same mods, having a ¼ tank more of gas is one of the riciest excuses for losing a race a person could ever come up with. certainly not going to give him another full car length to have caught up to you, and nowhere near enough to put him ahead of you

 

Well the story is weve had a couple races before and he had a passenger and i did not but i was running off reg. gas and him 93. i beat him by about a car and half both times from 35 to 105. Now I raced his car again with his freind driving and i lost by about the same 2 times with over 3/4 tank and i lost by less the next 2 times later on in the night with over 1/2. I asked a freind about it (he has the fastest car at our school) and he said it made HIGE diff. for him. He lost a race to someone(i dont know who exactly) with 3/4 tank then he waited for his gas light to go on and he raced him again and beat him by 2 cars. I was simple going off that and the fact that Aaron is the one who first made the big deal over weight. Aaron your car is faster than mine with my all of 2 real hp gain mods (full exhauts and cold air) and your gt-40 engine with ported and polished heads and intake, and what cam is it? weighing in at a total of 2700 pd to my 4500 (the door sticker can be off though). I think that u have the bad driver mod installed in your car.

 

I guess should go ahead and apologize for that low blow... sry. Especially since the the only thing Matt. said about all us of racing is not to turn it into a competition.

 

Ill put the video of the last 2 races on here tonight, i got to geta freind to do it. THe ifrst 2 races (i won) didnt get a video, the second 2 (aaron wasnt in the car, deleted video, i was pretty mad) The last 2 i kept so ill get em up.
