rx-8s are awesome. Come on Rotary engines totally rock. And I think they 0-60 is a bit faster like mid 5's with a 14.5 1/4. Guy prolly had a bad driver mod though. But awesome kill still! Especially when its someone you hate!

Good kill, those cars rarely break 15s. Best they will do is like 14.7.

Isn't the purpose of having a RX-series car to have something unique. An engine with such small displacement cranking out lots of horsepower and reving up really high? I mean it's not a torque monster but it's not suppose to be either. I guess since so many people have RX-8s nowadays it's not unique anymore...but modding a rotary engine is a completely different process than modding a cylinder stroke car right? If I'm not mistaken it is considerably more expensive too. And for everyone hating on Mazda, yes they are owned by Ford so cut'em some slack

I'm not hating on Mazda at all. A very good friend of mine had a 90 RX-7 and it was a very nice car. I was impressed that it was as quick as it was. And to be honest I really like the rotary engine, it is a great engine if people take care of it properly. I simply don't care for how the RX-8 looks. The 93-95 RX-7s were by far my favorite as far as the RX series goes.

I think all RX's are overpriced though...even the 3rd gen. RX-7 started at around $35k brand new and that was a long time ago...the new RX-8's start at $25k if I'm not mistaken but still not worth it in my opinion.

The RX-7's had horrible handling problems. If I remember correctly. I also do like the 92-95 RX-7's.

yea rx-8s are pretty bad stock. the only good ones are a manual at like 239 hp or so. but they have like 20 torque. the automatics are as bad as a 99-04 v6.

Those RX-8s suck in a straight line. I totally landed on this chick from a light on a road that was about to narrow from 2 lanes into one, I guess she wanted to get there first. Not even close.

And for everyone hating on Mazda
i wasnt hating on 'em either. i LOVE the (RX)7's. look good, decent amount of aftermarket support. nice cars all around.

ORIGINAL: St4ng07

The RX-7's had horrible handling problems.
MAYBE the FC's, but, the FD's had damn near perfect weight distribution. RX-7's handled AWESOME !!!!

the Renesis is still a rotary, yes, but the Wankel's(the FC and FD rotary engines) were WAAAAY better.
