I wouldnt mind a shot at that WRX, me on motor. We make VERY similar numbers, both torque and HP.

yeah...thats his old setup that he blew up. hes going bigger and youll need more than a 200-shot there budddddy. cuz out of the hole, the lil fugger will be GONE !!!! haha

Hey guy. I live in Northern VA, like 40 minutes from DC. I would be down for a romp with you, but like Grn N Gry 5OH said, my car has been down for the count for a while now =( In fact, I think my 4th cylinder started to lose compression on the dyno, because those numbers are roughly 60whp lower than what most people see with my exact setup. Oil started spewing from under my car after about the 5th dyno pull hah.

The new setup is a custom built and bored 2.8L stroker longblock. I went completely all out on the build, basically every component is top of the line. A few things off the top of my head are: fully forged internals, sleeved pistons, race bearings, custom crankshaft, titanium valve springs and retainers, Cosworth cams, most aggressively ported heads I could get, and ARP head studs to allow 60+psi of b00st. Because of the amount of work (and $$) put into the heads, the only thing really holding back the setup in terms of power is the crankshaft, which is built for 800awhp. There is a VERY good chance that I will not only max out my fuel system (which is being upgraded to ~850cc injectors and twin Walbro 255LPH fuel pumps) but also the turbo itself. Which is pretty nuts if you know much about that turbo =p

I will be keeping the engine detuned to *I'm hoping* ~500awhp on pump gas. I'll run a couple dyno pulls with C16 and am shooting for over 600 at all 4 wheels. If I decide to go with methanol or water injection in the future, I could push this setup much further, but I'd like to get used to this much power before I spend more on it.

Honestly, the one thing that would hold my car back from a drag race against yours is the gearing. The STI stock gearbox is set up for rally driving, so the 6 gears are pretty short. Even with my old setup, 1st and 2nd gear were pretty much useless... I can't imagine what it will be like now. I'm debating a custom-built 6 speed dogbox (clutchless shifting) transmission in the future which is improving STI 1/4 mile times by roughly a second, but right now I can't justify spending another $7,000 until my tranny actually breaks heh =/

yeah. i say that to ALOT of my import friends with 4-cyls. they laugh, then kinda just look at me. my old roomie at the beach bought a B16 for his hatchback right b4 i left. we got it on the engine stand, and were looking at it....i looked at him, and just smiled. he was like, "what??". "its soooo cute. wheres the other bank". "F**K YOU ZEKEY". LMAO. he knew i was j/k though. we were cool like that.

thats apretty sick setup WRX. My girlfriend lives right next to DC in La Plata, MD, so im up there quite often. With your new setup on pump gas even if you make 600 i think it would be good. On my MT DR's i wont spin out of the hole at all even with the ridiculous torque, so i might get a jump on you there if you spin like you say you do. I guess toss me a PM when its all said and done!
