Ok first of all i'm not saying that because someone babies their car that they don't know how to drive.

Second of all the guy in the vette took the challenge and wanted to race. When you cross paths with another car and there is friction between the two of you and you want to settle it by an all out race... YOU DON'T BABY YOUR CAR. I hate when people always use the excuse of "i don't want to beat on the car" when they lose. Well guess what, when you tell a guy that you are gonna kick his car's *** all over the place and then follow him for 2-3 miles to get to a place to race, then baby your car, you are a bitch.

Third, before i had my bigger injectors and vortech s-trim, i screwed passed a c5 both off the line and on the highway. they are quick, but not that fast. I'm not trying to start trouble here, i'm just trying to clarify what i meant.

But coming off really sarcastic doesn't help that, does it?

It started off as a joke, everybody likes to poke fun at the guy who goes out and buys a sweet vette once in a while. Especially when you see the guys at muscle car nights at ice cream stands whatnot, all huddled in the corner with their vettes like they're the cats meow, waxing them up and looking good and only talking to eachother while everyone else has cars that they have built and worked on walking around and checking out eachothers cars and shootin the breeze. I guess that's where it started from, at least in my town anyway. But hey, the vette wouldn't have lasted this long if it wasn't a sweet ride, I was just commenting on that particular race and having a little fun also. A C5 gave me the 2cnd best race of my life before i got my S/C.

331ci stroker 10.5:1 comp.,eddy perf rpm int. port-poll,1/2in plen spacer,trick 351 heads port-poll,gold crane rockers,ultradyne cam,75mm maf,75mm t/b,drag shocks,arms,8pt cage,trem3550,alum flywhl & shaft, 355 gears

All that got you right around the 13.0 mark.....how much psi are you running now? Sounds like you're still only in the neighborhood of a ZO6 even with the S/C'er and stroker motor. All this assuming the C5 was stock.

13 mark? I've never ran it at the track but i've had friends with less mods run 13's, if a stock newer GT can run 13.9, i can run somewhere in the 12's, and with a stroker with high compression, huge ported pollished heads, ported pollished intake, .525 lift cam and all the goodies to go along with it, plus an aluminum flywheel and driveshaft to lighten the drivetrain up, and an 8psi kit, i think i could run right with a Z06, if pass him, i have a stiff suspension (cage and sub frame con) control arms and drag shocks with bfg drag radials. I still think vettes are good cars but i like that you can put a couple grand into a mustang and beat someone who just spend 80k on his car.

TANGO? Where do you live? I reside here in Ca ..and you see nothing but Vettes...and most of these guys ARE racing them on the streets.Infact about 2hours ago I saw 3 Vettes..2 of them were messing around ..trying to get me to race them. Saturdays on these freeways can be very fun. ANYWAYS....the highlight of this story is..a very sweet looking FERRARI (RED OF COURSE) comes cruising up and the Vettes laid very low after that. And the RICERS? They were everywhere. But nobody paid much attention to them. LOL TRUE STORY!
ORIGINAL: Tango 1

I would still have to be there to belive it most people would not race thier 2004 Vett. And I still think the Vett would win. Show a video or somthing I have not seen a tang beat a vet with or without charger I would like to see it is all I am saying.

I was saying, if you ran close with a C5, which is right around a 13 flat car, then I was figuring that's where you were minus the S/C'er. So with the charger I'm figuring you're around ZO6 speed. And a couple grand in a Mustang WILL NOT outrun an 80k Corvette. 80K will damn near get a LPE 427 TT Corvette and no Ford ever made with 2k in it will outrun that car.

Haha very true, a 2k mustang will not outrun a 427 vette, but I think you can see what I'm getting at, Mustangs are pretty much the best bang per buck. Anyway I'm waiting on my new MAF calibrated for my 42# injectors, then I'll be able to take my car to the track and I can't wait to see what it runs. I went on a vette forum and I saw guys running anywhere from 13's down to low 11's. I guess in a couple of weeks I'll really find out if I can take a Z06 or not. Either way, they are BOTH fast cars.

Stangs arent always best bang for your buck. It what you know and how you use it. Having something interesting under the hood helps. my car is NA and I bet you woulda been watchin me get small infront of ya. My car is cheap as cheap gets too.

Really get to a track and find out where you are running, its the only way to know what you got and if its werkin for ya...

OK I said most people would not. But now are you saying a Ferrari is in the class as a Mustang well we know that it is not. But all I am saying is we wan't to see some video of it . I have seen vetts race and belive me some of them were not stock and if the guy can buy a 80,000 vett I am shure he could spend a little more and see what would happen. I have mustang also but I wish I had a vett. Saving money now thinking of one but think I am going to by a boat. My self would like that Ferrari but that video would been nice.
