I would be the happiest person on earth if a cop were trying to get up on my *** while I was in a rental car and I slammed on the brakes and got him to rear-end me. I'd probably pump my fists in the air with the thrill of victory.

Where I live theres a hotline for roadrage drivers. I think my story takes the cake for being tailgated. I was cruising in my 79 stang 5.0. Its rainging out and all of my windows except the windsheild are fogged up. Some car gets right up on my *** and stays there, so being a curtious driver I get over and think hes going to pass, he follows me to the other lane. So I get back over, he follows, then i get back into the right lane he still follows me. So Im gettin pissed because hes definitly WAY too close for comfort in the rain, I drop it down to second and romp on it leave em in the dust...wouldnt ya know it its a damn cop. Long story short I get a 10 over ticket and nice fat fine. What a bastard. Needless to say that cop got fired.

I was driving home from work, cruising 60 in a 55 and some a$swipe in a F-250 was tailgating me really bad with his lights blinding me when it was still daylight outside. I got pissed so at the next light, I accelerated fast and left him way behind. So I start cruising again and this guy catches up with me and tailgates me again. Now I'm real pissed cuz I know he's doing it on purpose. I sped up to 80 in a 55mph limit area, and he was STILL tailgating me. So I'm looking in my rear view and he is coming up on me and looks like he wants to pass me. So right before he is about to swing in the other lane, I drop it in 3rd and floor it. I left him in the dust and went up to 120mph, then started driving 80 the rest of the way home.

And another thing, Ive been driving since I was about 12, so I have tons of driving experience, more than most people anyway. And most of that driving was in 5.0 stangs, not to mention Ive had 10 fox bodies, so I know their handling characteristics VERY well.
But my whole point of that was that Im driving along doing the speed limit and then I get an ******* cop who is driving unsafely, and over the course of my driving experience Ive found thats its better for my personal well being to remove myself from unsafe situations, even if its the wrong thing to do. As Ive avoided SEVERAL accidents that way. ***** it gimme the ticket, Ill pay it, rather be broke and in good shape, than rich and cripple.

ahhhh i hate cops, no matter what, if i pass them while theyre doing a speed trap, they would go on the road and start passing cars just to get behind me and tailgating me even though i didnt do anything wrong...[:@]

Why would you want them to follow that close? So that they can easily hit you, damage your car, keep you from getting to where you're going (time it takes for police reports), get insurance claims involved, get your car sent to a body shop for who knows how long, etc, etc?

I have a story too...I had a guy who was tailgating me also, to make a long story short, he passed me and gave me the finger. I was already on my exit and was like **** that so I swerved back onto the highway. He was already pretty far ahead so I am doing about 120 to catch up. This dude sees me coming and slams on his brakes in front of me. I rearend him doing about 70mph. I did 3 or 4 360's in the middle of the highway. I hit him so hard my front tires were pushed back into the engine firewall. He was in a big dodge pickup with a big trailer hitch on it. The truck was jacked up also. He keep going about a 1/4 mile up the road before he turned around. He parked on the other side of the highway and would not approach me. I jumped out of the car and wanted to beat the **** out of this guy the paramedics and the police had to stop me. What I feel bad about the most is that my wife was in the car and she had to go to the hospital, i did'nt care about the car

I hate being tailgated... it's just annoying to look in your rearview and see a grille... but, I have a really simple solution.. I don't break check, or speed up... I take my foot off the gas, and slow down.... or i'll drop it a gear and let my car gradually slow itself down... then once he's back there, then ill hit the gas... in other words.. speed limit is 50, and im doin 55, and a**hole is tailgating me... Ill slow down to 30mph... then once he's back there ill slam it again - get back up to 55.. and if he catches back up with me and tailgates me again, ill just set cruise control on 40mph. not worth getting my license suspended for road rage, nor the 4 points on my license, haha.
