If you drive a GT

CTS-Vs & STS-Vs are especially fast.

some of those caddies are fast, good job bro

As far as GTs go, personally I've never raced against a CTS-V or STS-V, but I'm sure there are enough modded GTs out there that can smoke them, and some that can smoke Cobras too. [sm=smiley2.gif]

My remark was in comparison to other Caddies. Those are the fastest, as far as I know.

I have a 2001 STS. It isreasonably fast (bone stock, 6.5 0-60, 14.6 quarter) but the Northstar is IMPOSSIBLE to modify without major pains and $$$$$$$, except for adding NOS. If you add anything to the engine requiring a tuning change, you can't because GM has a death grip on access to the ECM, and even though an aftermarket ECM would work, the rest of the vehicle's electronic systems are so tightly integrated they would fail to operate without the original ECM in the loop. Mechanical mods are unlikey to improve the engine much since GM has extracted nearly all of the potential from this engine setup anyway. If you want to modify camshafts, you have to modify 4 of them. The cylinders are not boreable, the quench tolerance is near zero, as is the valve clearance.
Add to that the fact that all of the Sevelle STS (and other cadillacs) from 1993-2004 were front wheel drive, and you can see that making even 2000 horsepower will deliver diminishing returns because when a FWD car accelerates, its weight is thrown to the rear like any other car, and traction disappears.
V6 Mustangs without serious mods will have thier asses handed to them by this car, but it doesn't take that much, really, to make the V6 'Stang outperform the STS.
And most newer V8 Mustangs are faster than the STS, bone stock.
I love my Cadillac, but I will have a Mustang.

The CTS-V's are pretty fast, my friend had a 350rwhp 300zx TT and he raced against a CTS-V. The CTS-V won and the guy wasn't a very good driver. My friend is a decent driver.
