porsche carrera
my wife was driving us down the highway and some old guy in a new 120k porsche was getting it on. we passed our exit for at least 15 miles messing with him. 150 mph plus he still couldn't shake us. she had to keep letting off to keep from running him over. the old guy was pretty cool. He gave us a big thumbs up.
oh you could keep up with one easily with a super charger and stock gears...all you have to do is run about 185...and thats not hard, even for the stock mustang with cams and a 6 pounder...look at the motor cross guys. Although realisticly youd need a good air dam kit, a functional spoiler and good tires, probably want a decent suspension...I figure for 6G's youd have a car that could "mud stomp" any carerra. So youve got a 25, 500 base car (thats loaded) and 6k more...thats 31,500, and a car that will run all day long with a carrerra, that costs 2 times as much....and that will run easily with it in the sprints....</P><edited><editID>fast4rds1</editID><editDate>37775.8328703704</editDate></edited>
shoot me for asking, but dont late model GT's run about a 14 flat stock? at 13.4, i dont think it would take a whole lot for a GT to beat that time, or run with a car boasting that time. the carerra has a good top end, around 170, nothing an ungoverned mustang would need much to acheive im sure. i wouldnt think it takes a supercharger to shave .6 off the 1/4 mile time.
the carrera doesn't have 500 ponies. its an N/A 911. your thinking of the carerra GT, wich is brand new and a twin turbo. now that's a car running mid-low 11's stock. the N/A 911 carerra runs mid 13's.

Uh, its a 605 hp v-10 and I'll bet it costs somewhere closer to 1/2 mil than a hunert grand.
Now, I think he meant the 911 carrera. They still make those in several "models".
BTW this info is from the Porsche website. Well, all except the Carrera GT price. I couldn't find that. <edited><editID>converted</editID><editDate>37776.7198263889</editDate></edited>
