The Focus is a domestic sport compact. Your suppossed to race other 4 bangers like Civics, Celicas, and stuff like that. Of course the Focus is slow compared to Mustangs, but so are most other 4 bangers. And besides, its a FORD, stop hatin.

^^^ Agreed. And besides, we all know what can happen when you slap a turbo on a 4 banger. They can be made to be fast... just like any other car.

Ehh I dunno, this 05 focus I'm driving is pretty slow. I don't even lunge back 1 bit when I floor it from a stop. I think even with a turbo it wouldn't be fast.

You must not have read about the Focus with a 32v v8, with S/C, basically the engine right out of the 03/04 Cobras. It was converted to rear wheel drive and everything, talk about a badass car. Over on the Focus forums there have been Focus' with just bolt on's runnin in the 14's in the 1/4 mile, which is pretty good for a Focus.
Im talking about one on the street. Not something that is funded, magazine/company or a rich persons project car.

well the person i raced is my moms boyfriend and hes got his car with skinnies up front and wides out back because hes about to put a 460 in it........i was just messing around with him.....but i think it was unfair because i burnt his clutch up learning 2 drive a manual...not because i suck that bad but because the emergency break wasnt down all the way......and the focus is in the shop because its transmission is slippping....they gave us a buick rental car...[:'(] .and the reason i would race it is because none of yall will hurry up and sell me your mustangs just kidding...but i am looking for one

the stage1 turbo kit on a zetec puts out 195fwhp... the stage2 is 240fwhp and runs mid 13s. i haven't seen what the duratec can hold but considering it's a 2.3l instead of a 2.0l and already puts out more power, i'm pretty sure it would make a nice fun little ride.

i think the focus is a great car for what it's suppose to be... a sporty econobox daily driver.
