I'm not sure which model you got, but the one I rented was probably the cheapest one. It had power everything, but it didn't have cruise control. Just the experience of driving it is nothing special at all. The seats are uncomfortable, the interior is not appealing, neither is the exterior, just not overall fun to drive.

oh well, must be a matter of opinion.... i have a 5spd no options early 2000, wich has the same engine as the one you rented except with the better intake (they changed it midway into 2000) and i love it (as far as cheap econoboxes go lol). i think the interior is great, the seats are really comfortable and keep you in place in the twisties, and it can definetly handle them well. of course it lacks a bit in the power department, it's just a low 16 sec car, but that's still better than most other N/A 4 cyl sporty/economy cars in its' class.... but like i said, to each his own.

SVT is a special company that builds these vehicles. Chevy just decided to put an SS badge on a car with a S/C. Too me its different, I think the SVT models like the Cobra, Focus, Contour are one of a kind, Ford did its homework on these cars and made them special. I dont maybe its just me, but I think its different than what Chevy did with the SS Cobalt, and what Dodge did with the SRT-4 Neon. Oh yeah, a 14.5 is hella good for a Focus, do you know what it had done?

What mods do you have and what times have you ran at the track? I know stock 94-95 Cobras run about mid to low 14's in the 1/4, just like 99-04 GTs.

silver, i know he had from what he told me "full bolt ons" he also had the ford emblem in the grill replaced with SCT (as in the tuner) he said he had a custom tune from them or something. Also pointed out in the staging lanes that i had no chance against him with my auto mustang.......he ran a 14.6 i ran a 13.78....................I thought SVT was a division of Ford, or at least run by them.....guess i should keep my mouth shut.....but i agree, Cobra, Lightning truck were SICK cars and deserve the SVT badge , its kinda sad as a domestic fan to see Chevy slapping an SS badge on everything these days.....im waiting for them to put SS on a malibu sedan, drop in a V8 and call it a Chevelle SS.............there was a time when "SS" ment something

I guess with all his mods he should be beating a Focus that runs 14.1 by more than just a car. I really dont care what Chevy does, but to me the nice, bad *** Chevys were a thing of the past. Camaros, Chevelles, Monte Carlos were the bomb back in their day, nowadays, Cobalts, Malibus aint doing it for Chevy. I'll agree that Cobalts are a nice little sport compact and the new Montes and Impalas with the 303 arent nothing to mess with, and the Vette is still the bomb.

the Jackson SC sucks ***, always had, always will... go on any focus board and say you're thinking about a JRSC, everybody will tell you it's a POS, they're giving them away in the classifieds... the vortech on the other hand is good to bump the SVT up to 280...N/A they put down 150fwhp plus those thing handle like they're on rails and weight only 2700lbs, i just don't see how that equals such a crappy car that wouldn't be worthy of an SVT badge.
