not to bring up an old thread for no reason, but I went to the track this past friday. with racegas and 21 psi (only 1 psi more than i run on the street) I ran 12.66@110mph. ****ty (for me) launch. 1.7 60' time. I was leary of turning the boost up any higher, as I was over 100 miles away from home, and didn't feel like popping the headgasket on a 170k motor. Though when I tuned it, I was still running rich, with plenty of timing and no knock. Car weighed 2985 without me in it, and 3150 with me. I had taken out the rear and passenger seats, but still had a full stereo in the car. The race with the cobra still hasn't happened. I'll keep you updated.

Hrmmm, I wonder what an 03-04 Cobra would run at 22 psi and race gas? Nice times by the way.

Well, with the stock tires and IRS, I'd say mid to low 15's. 700hp = traction problems.

Yea i guess being underdog is the funnist part. Everyone i knows puts down my 2 Mustangs with eveything they can throw at it .I just remind them mine is paid for.Yes i could buy a new car but why? My buddy works for ford and i can recieve his discounts and my military one as well. But dang 400 bucks or more for a new car phew.. imagine 400 bucks a month into a fox body. LOL sounds fun to me . Thats what it is all about .

Why arent they american cars? True DSM was Chrysler and Mitsu teaming up to make cars, but they are like 50/50 with a decent Mitsu powerplant/drivetrain. The Eclipse/Talon has been legendary with AWD+Turbo for a long time, 12's with just a bit of tweaking. Yes I am impressed, no I dont want one. I have set my sights higher than what they are capable of in an inexpensive manner. Maybe not American like the Stang of Fbody/Vette but they are more so than the Si, even if the Honda is assembled here.
Have you seen one? I owned one, and 3 others were owned in the family ( 2 brothers, mother). There isnt a single bit of chrystler design in the car. Its a mitsubishi thru and thru.

Just because they were assembled in upstate IL doesnt mean they are american. Not that it matters anyway, who cares who made the car?

Just because a car was made in the USA doesnt mean it isnt rice. Rice is a car that has no *****, but tons of exterior modifications to make it look like it is fast. Doesnt sound like this guys car fits the bill whatsoever.

I have seen plenty of rice mustangs and camaros.

Excellent description. That is exactly how I feel, but I could never figure out how to word it.
