I thought the 1983-85 GT's were the only ones that came with posi...I thought the 86 and 87-93 were limited slip.....But i could be wrong.

all fox body Stangs with the 5.0 HO engine option came with a Ford traction lok rear which is a positive traction type of rear end. posi, limited slip, traction lok, Detroit locker all mean the same thing, the rear differential is not an open rear (non-posi).

Dang ya beat me to it. Its either open diff, locking type, or a spool. There isnt much else. Open will spin the passenger side rear because the engine torque's reaction tries to lift that one off the pavement, hence its easier to spin. Check on Newtons laws about actions and reactions.

AS far as do all stangs have limited slip, well all the FOX and up I have worked on did, but most were 2.73 geared slug rears.
