No i didnt say you called bs i was just stating the fact i was suprised as well. thanks 98ls1
I know you didn't say that, which is good. My car made 35rwhp more than yours with just exhaust on my car. If you outrun a cam/bolt-on car, then awesome. You outran AT LEAST a 370rwhp car that weighs almost the same as your car, congrats. I think that you must be a great driver.
The best ever by far...LMAO
let me tell you a story:
i have a best friend with a 2000 dinan m5...one which i have beat a few times (never lost, though i wouldn race him on the highway cuz he's gone 180+ before with it)

i have another friend with a 644rwhp whipplecharged 03 cobra.

they raced around christmas...from a dig...and the m5 kept up, actually pulling ahead at each shift while the cobra spun, for a while at least

now these cars have a 300rwhp difference, and the cobar has 305 (or 315) drag radials, yet the heavier/underpowered car kept up. my point is that 70rwhp is a LOT less than 300rwhp, so i can easily and fully believe this story, not to mention ive done the same (well, the fool missed a shift and i won by a car length to his "exhaust and cam" ss...but a wins a win lol)

No BS flags yet. Just a little suggestive sarcasim from myself. I believe him. Its not like he claimed that he beat a C5 Z06 from a highway roll in his GT....

Good Kill!

While I'll be the first to admit that the LS1 is a hot engine with tons of potential, it's certainly not unbeatable. Some of you guys seem to think you can just jump in one, push a button and run instant 13.0's, but its just not that easy. The more power a car has the harder it is to launch consistently, for one thing. Furthermore, as I've stated before, I've beaten an 03 Cobra and a highly modified mid-90's(1996?) Trans-Am at the strip in my stock 01 Bullitt, cars that should have hung me out to dry...

The Trans-Am apparently made most of its power past the 1320 mark as he put on a helluva show with his ultra loud exhaust and loooong smoky burnouts, but a bad combo of mods apparently killed his lowend power and I ate him alive at the tree. The 03 Cobra driver was apparently adjusting his stereo or something when the light went green then panicked and bogged badly off the line, resulting in a 14.4x quarter and one very embarrassed driver...

Still, there's no doubt Lady Luck had the hots for you that night...

Good kill. And yeah, I must admit that I'm surprised that you could pull on a car that should be making well over 350 rwhp when your sig claims 290 rwhp.
As for the 'invincibility" of the LS1, there are many cars here that would beat me, such as lightly modded 3V's and every single 03-04 Cobra with a non-tard for a driver.

Hey, I always wondered... do base model C5 Vettes hang with Cobras? Is it a drivers race or what?

Yes, driver's race. Well-driven 6-speed versions of both cars (all Cobras and optional on the Vette) run about 12.7-13.0. If F-bodies can touch 12.9, than the lighter Vette should be comfortably there.
I've heard of freakish Cobies hitting 12.5-12.6 though.

Okay thanks because I always thought the Cobras were faster. You might as well say they are since no one has the stock pulley in..
