Default 2v vs. 3v

i had another run in with a 05+ mustang tonight. this time it was a 5 speed car, black with the 18" wheel package, great looking car. We jockied threw traffic for a while until we finaly broke around everyone and pulled up at a light. Green came after what seemed like 15 min and we both got a preaty good launch. Dead even threw first gear, then i power shifted second and pulled out a 1/2 to 3/4 of a car, speed shifted third (i almost allways mis if i try to powershift third) and held the same ground till 105, nailed 4th and he started creeping and we both shut down about 115 with me still out in front by around 1/2 a car. At the next light we talked, he was bone stock and we both gave eachother props on the cars. the 3v cars are preaty damn quick even stock, i was pumped to beat him threw the whole 1/4mi especialy since i didnt out 60' him, i figured he might come back on me up top. for the record i have a catback, offroad x, 75mm tbody, plenum and a diablo tune. still i figure i spent $1000 on mods and when i bought my car the 05 i was looking at was 7k more, i am happy.

04 mustang gt 40th anniv package.

good kill man, i was trying to get this 05+ GT to race me tonight, i have SLP LMII's and MGW and he had a cold air intake he was saying it had 340 hp....sigh......(i know i would have got spanked but wanted to see how close i could get) i just laughed when he said he had 340 with just an intake haha sorry not trying to hijack, just thought that was funny that he thought he was THAT much better/faster than my car oh well again good kill, makes me wanna mod my car more so i can start beat'n up on some new model GT's.

I raced a 02 GT last night at the drags. He had 4.10s and pretty much got me through the 1/8th but it was really close. I beat him the rest of the 1/4 mile though. He was the better driver I just had the power. My mods are in my sig. The guy you raced with a CAI and good tune might be putting 290 to the wheels and thats with a GOOD 93 octane tune, so maybe 330 at the crank. And I'm being optimistic.

Those cars are underrated (rated 300, most dyno 270-280 with a 5-speed) and that means they are HONESTLY around 320ish or so. WIth an intake and a tune 340 bhp is VERY easy, CAI and a out of the box handheld tuner can add 25 whp in some cases according to MMFF's dyno tests. Soooo...340bhp is very possible, he was probably dyno;ins around 300 at the tires and thats 340 fly in anyone's book.

If he is killing a 3V stock for stock, it is pretty cool, if you are killing one with gears, headers, CAI, tune, and you are NA, then I am VERY IMPRESSED.
