Default SRT4 kill

I was driving home from work and noticed a brand new SRT4 in the rearview. I drive anything but slow and he was keeping pace. I wasn't going to avoid going home for his ***, so I made him follow me through a couple turns before the road opened up enough and dropped into second at a 30 roll. Two revs and we both punched it smoking tires a bit. I had him by more than a car length by 80 mph and he was very slowly catching up.

I'm bone stock, I thought those things were supposed to be faster than STI's from a roll?

I've never heard anything about them being faster than an STI from a roll. . . But nice kill.

Yeah theres a couple of srt4's around my area and the fastest one had "VTEC THIS" on it so when I busted him by more than 2 seconds at the track I wrote "SRT THIS" in window chalk on my back window!

Hrmmm, must just be bad information but I remember '05 STI owners getting punkd by '05 SRT4's on wrxlinks.com. Maybe they weren't stock. I'm assuming this guy wasn't, because he started very slowly catching up at top end. Or maybe I just suck

An STI owns an SRT stock at any speeds (maybe you're thinking of the WRX, not STI?), experience at the track shows they aren't as fast as the SRT forum's brag about. There were some at Byron when I went, one was running 13.0's but had a crap load of mod's, the others were stockers or if modded not much so because the other fastest one there was running 13.8's making all sorts of race noise's doing so, it was loud as hell then it cracks a 13.8, I wa like......OOooooooooook then.

The one running 13.0 was at least impressive when he ran, you wouldn't know it by the sound so that impressed me.

Are you on drugs?? A 230HP car for under $20,000 and you say it's overrated??? My SRT-4 just ran an 11.61@121 at the SRT Nationals in Topeka. It has hella mods and was on a crap tune at the time. The car, as we speak, just picked up 20HP from dialing in the cams on the first try. That 20HP BTW brings my HP up to 480 to the wheels at only 25 lbs of boost, and more cam to dial in. Can you say 550@30lbs with no problems, fully street driven??? Yeah, overrated.

How long will be things start falling apart? You have a fast car but reliability may be an issue.

Well, it has a fully built motor, and I won't settle for ANY knock, and the EMS is set to pull timing if it senses any, and to cut fuel if certain things happen (EMS's are simply an awesome investment). The car isn't just a turbo wonder, it has all the supporting mods, so hopefully it will last awhile. I havn't upgraded the drive shafts yet, as there are none on the market that are any better than the stock units. But, they are prone to breaking (usually on autocross cars with people flooring it out of the turns), so I carry an extra set. So, long story short, awhile.
