while i do agree that the SVT is nothing more than a supped up cheap econobox, you still gotta give it credit where it's due and ford really did their homework on the suspension...
2004 BMW M3 ....slalom: 67.4mph
2002 SVT Focus ....slalom: 68.4 mph
2003 boxster ....slalom: 65.6 mph
with aftermarket shocks/struts/springs and a good set of tires they are known for crossing the 1.00G mark and get really close to a 70mph slalom... just as a reference, these are the specs on the 2002 porsche GT2 (one of porsche's higher-end models)...
2002 porsche GT2 ...slalom: 69.8 ...skidpad: 1.01g
while this is just dumb paper racing, it can still give you an idea of why people are saying how well they handle. unfortunetly though, they're still slow and can't break into the 14s stock.
...i wish ford would finaly bring over the Focus RS turbo from europe, i'd buy that in a second as a daily driver.

what can i say, i like the little crapbox... it satisfies my inner ricer [sm=smiley36.gif]nah, nothing new yet... aside from adjustable cam gears that are waiting to go on, but it will be getting a 75 shot when the warranty is up (just a matter of months now
).

the 2.3 puts out 20 extra ponies and 10 lbs of tq over the 2.0 zetec... i haven't given it a test drive yet, but i'm sure it must feel a bit stronger. the zetec doesn't respond too well to minor bolt-ons, best i've seen was about equal to what the duratec puts out stock. i didn't waste too much on useless bolt-ons, most of it was suspension and removing the speed limiter (eibach pro-kit springs/shocks/struts, steeda short-throw, diablo chip, wheels, tires, CAI) and the only other mods it's going to get will be the adjustable cam gears and 75 shot. i don't know how long i'm going to keep it, but chances are i'm going to get a focus ST when i make a switch. then i'll swap over the wheels and 75 shot to that one and get another eibach package and chip, that's it. the steeda shifter and CAI were the only real waste of money and time that i wouldn't bother doing again.

come to woodbridge, lol. no offense to any mexicans on here but mexican ricers are by far the funniest ive seen yet.
yeah when ricers pull up next to me and start reving i just say you got a turbo or a supercharger under the hood and if theres a yes maybe i'll give them a shot. Otherwise i don't waste my gas unless i have something to prove.
